Pre-Professional Program

Levels 6i, Pre-Professional

Ages 12 - 19 years old

The Pre-Professional Program, for ages 12 – 19, is a rigorous program designed to meet the needs of highly-dedicated students who intend to pursue college-level conservatory training and/or careers in professional ballet. Participation is by invitation only. ABT National Training Curriculum classes are supplemented with individualized coaching and mentoring from highly skilled faculty, certified in the ABT National Training Curriculum. SSBT is proud to offer the South Shore’s only pre-professional training program in classical ballet.

Members of SSBT’s Pre-Professional Program have the unique opportunity to participate annually in the prestigious Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) competition. Select students may present solo and/or ensemble choreography for competition at this internationally renowned event. SSBT is proud to provide this important opportunity to our most dedicated students.

Students in SSBT’s Pre-Professional Program will receive specialized training in classical ballet, pointe, variations and repertoire, pas de deux, as well as the enrichment classes offered to students of the Classical Ballet and Intensive Programs.

In addition to the opportunity to participate in YAGP, Pre-Professional students also receive extensive performance opportunities in SSBT’s Winter and Spring Performance Groups, in order to prepare them for the demands of performing at the college and professional level.
